About the course
This honours degree prepares you for professional chemical engineering practice, focusing on how materials and chemicals are transformed in processing, production and refining. You build strong foundations in mechanics, mathematics and engineering design, then develop expertise in areas such as chemistry, materials science, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics and process systems. Later study covers process design, operations and control, with practical problem-solving, teamwork and project work central to the course.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue roles across industries where chemical and process engineering is essential, including mineral processing, mining, oil and gas, manufacturing and biologically based production. Career paths may include process or production engineer, chemical engineer, process design engineer, operations or control engineer, and project engineer. The honours focus and project-based learning support strong analytical capability and readiness to contribute to complex engineering projects in chemical engineering.
