About the course
This double degree combines secondary teacher education with specialist fine arts training. You’ll build skills in curriculum and pedagogy for teaching adolescents while developing creative practice in an arts major such as music, drama, dance, visual arts, film/screen or creative writing. The course prepares you to integrate studio-based creativity with classroom-ready teaching capability for secondary settings in education and the arts. The programme develops classroom practice, curriculum knowledge, and educational psychology for teaching professions.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue careers as secondary school teachers (subject to meeting registration requirements) with strong capabilities to teach and lead learning through arts practice. Depending on the chosen fine arts major, opportunities may also include roles in creative industries such as performer, writer, musician, visual artist, screen/media practitioner, arts facilitator and community arts educator. This is a bachelor-level pathway bridging Education & Teaching with arts practice. Preparing graduates for teaching, education support, and learning development roles in schools and colleges.
