About the course
This degree prepares you to become an early childhood teacher working with children from birth to five years. You’ll study key issues, concepts and practices in early childhood education, including play-based learning, literacy and numeracy, curriculum planning, health and science in education, and leadership in early childhood settings. You can study online or on campus with professional placements to build workplace readiness in undergraduate early childhood education. The programme develops classroom practice, curriculum knowledge, and educational psychology for teaching professions.

Graduates are prepared for roles as Early Childhood Teachers in prior-to-school settings supporting children from birth to five years. Career pathways include work in early learning centres, long day care services, family day care, and preschools, including preschools attached to schools (such as in the Northern Territory). The course includes supervised professional experience to support entry into the early childhood education workforce at bachelor level.
