About the course
QUT’s Bachelor of Design immerses you in hands-on studio learning from your first semester, with real industry projects and opportunities for work-integrated learning. You’ll begin with Design Impact Labs focused on tackling complex social and industry challenges through collaboration across disciplines. The course is flexible, letting you choose a major and build breadth through minors, specialisations and electives in a creative, practice-led design degree. The programme combines engineering fundamentals, design projects, and industry-ready technical problem-solving skills.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue roles across contemporary design industries, applying design thinking, research, ideation and prototyping to real-world problems. Depending on your major, careers may include experience (UX) designer, interaction designer, visual communication/graphic designer, fashion designer, industrial/product designer, or strategic/service designer. The degree also supports emerging cross-disciplinary opportunities in areas such as health, technology and smart-city projects within bachelor-level design practice.
