This undergraduate pre-major stream builds foundations in data science and mathematics within Curtin’s Bachelor of Science pathways. You’ll take a curated set of related units that develop quantitative and computational thinking, supporting later specialisation across eligible science degrees and some double degrees. It is studied on campus at Curtin Perth as part of a host bachelor degree in computing and mathematical sciences. The programme builds programming, systems thinking, and data skills for technology-driven industries and startups.
Career outcome
This pre-major stream helps prepare you for further study and later careers that combine mathematical modelling with data-driven problem solving. Graduates of the host bachelor degree may pursue roles in data analytics, quantitative analysis, optimisation and modelling across government, finance, technology, health and research settings.
