About the course
This undergraduate extension specialisation is designed for chemical engineering students interested in process systems engineering at the intersection of engineering, mathematics and computing. It builds capability in numerical methods and programming, first-principles and data-driven modelling of process systems, advanced data analytics, and modern process control techniques. It is studied as a four-unit specialisation alongside an engineering degree in computing-focused process industries.
Career outcome
Graduates can apply data analytics, modelling and advanced process control methods to improve performance, efficiency and safety in process operations. Career pathways include process systems or control engineer, process modelling/simulation engineer, data analytics roles in manufacturing and resources, and engineering data specialist supporting digital transformation initiatives. This is an undergraduate specialisation supporting careers in data-driven process engineering and control.
