About the course
The Bachelor of Cyber Security is designed to meet growing demand for specialists who can prevent, detect and respond to cybercrime. Co-designed with industry, the course combines strong computing foundations with cyber security practice, including networking, cloud, cryptography and digital forensics, alongside broader perspectives on policy, ethics and governance. You’ll also build employability through hands-on, real-world projects on campus at Macquarie’s North Ryde precinct in Sydney.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue roles across government, defence, finance, technology and consulting where organisations need to protect systems and data. Typical pathways include cyber security analyst, security operations (SOC) analyst, incident responder, penetration tester, digital forensics analyst, governance/risk/compliance (GRC) analyst, and security consultant. The degree’s industry-linked projects and practical labs support job readiness for entry-level cyber security and broader IT security roles after completing this bachelor-level computing qualification.
