About the course
The Bachelor of Culinary Arts Management (Hons) programme is designed for students who want to pursue and advance a career in culinary arts while building strong management capability. It focuses on administrative, operational and management areas within the culinary industry, alongside continued development of practical culinary skills aligned with industry operational standards. The curriculum integrates culinary foundations with business, communication and leadership-related learning for work-ready competence in hospitality and culinary environments.
What you might learn
Students develop advanced culinary competence together with the management and business skills needed to operate effectively in professional foodservice settings. The programme aims to strengthen capabilities in areas such as customer relationship management, human resources, IT, accounting, marketing and communication to support supervisory and leadership roles. It also builds professionalism and workplace readiness through structured learning and an embedded internship experience.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue roles across professional kitchens and culinary operations, progressing from positions such as commis cook and chef de partie to sous chef, chef de cuisine and executive chef. The programme also supports pathways into culinary entrepreneurship and specialist careers such as catering chef, cruise line chef, kitchen director, culinary lecturer, or director within culinary education institutions. Opportunities may extend into related food industries and media-focused roles such as food writer, food stylist, food photographer, food critic, and food research specialist.
Entry requirements
STPM / A-Levels or equivalent with a minimum of 2 principal passes. UEC with minimum 5 credits. Applicants who possess other qualifications will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
