About the course
Macquarie’s Bachelor of Criminology explores crime, harm and injustice and how criminal justice institutions respond, including policing, courts and prisons. You’ll study criminology through legal, political, sociological and psychological lenses, and examine contemporary issues such as media and crime, transnational crime, cybercrime and counterterrorism. The degree is designed to build analytical and research skills and can include practical experiences such as internships. This is a bachelor-level qualification in criminology.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue roles across criminal justice and related sectors where understanding crime, policy and social harm is valued. Career pathways may include work in policing and justice support services, corrections and rehabilitation, crime prevention, community safety, policy and governance, intelligence and security, and roles in government agencies and NGOs.
