About the course
This double degree combines criminology and law to build a broad understanding of crime, justice and policy alongside core legal training across major areas of law. You will learn from academics with industry expertise and develop practical skills through real-world experiences such as the Deakin Law Clinic and Community Legal Service, with opportunities for work-integrated learning and international experiences. This is a Bachelor-level program in law and criminology. The programme builds legal reasoning, case analysis, and professional ethics for legal practice and public service pathways.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared for careers across legal practice and the criminal justice system, drawing on combined expertise in law, criminology and policy. Career pathways may include roles in legal services and advocacy, compliance and regulatory work, policing and justice agencies, corrections and rehabilitation, community legal and support services, and policy or research roles focused on crime prevention and justice reform. This is a Bachelor-level qualification for law and criminology careers.
