About the course
ECU’s Bachelor of Creative Writing builds your skills and confidence as a storyteller. You’ll develop voice, style, character, dialogue and empathy while learning techniques across fiction, non-fiction, poetry and dramatic scripts. The course also introduces the commercial realities of writing and publishing. This is an AQF Level 7 Bachelor degree focused on creative writing practice. The programme combines disciplinary knowledge, applied learning, and graduate competencies for professional career entry.

Graduates can pursue writing and publishing pathways, including fiction and non-fiction writing, poetry, scriptwriting and content creation. The course supports skills in developing narrative, voice and audience awareness, which are valuable in publishing and related creative industries. It can also suit roles involving written communication such as editing and freelance writing. This is a Bachelor degree in creative writing and publishing.
