About the course
This one-year Honours program extends prior study in computing, IT, data science or mathematics through advanced coursework and a substantial supervised research thesis. You build high-level analytical, modelling and coding capability while learning to plan, execute and communicate research outcomes. Delivered in person at Tonsley or the City Campus, it prepares graduates for PhD pathways and advanced technical roles in computing and mathematical sciences. The programme builds programming, systems thinking, and data skills for technology-driven industries and startups.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared for research-focused and advanced technical roles that combine rigorous analysis with computing and mathematical methods. Career pathways include R&D and innovation roles, data science and analytics positions, AI or cybersecurity specialisations, software and systems engineering work, and research assistant or junior researcher roles in universities, government and industry. The Honours year also strengthens eligibility for PhD study in computing and mathematical sciences.
