About the course
The Bachelor of Computer Science (Honours) at UOW builds on prior undergraduate computing study to strengthen your theoretical and practical skills. You develop advanced research capability through research methodology training and complete an independent research project in an area of interest. The degree also includes elective study across areas such as data mining, software engineering, artificial intelligence and computer security. This is an Honours qualification in IT & Computer Science.
Career outcome
Graduates may pursue roles across software development, data and AI, cybersecurity, and broader computing industries. The honours research project and methodology training support pathways into research-led roles and technical specialist work, as well as preparation for higher degree research study. Potential job titles include software engineer, data scientist, AI engineer, cybersecurity analyst, database administrator, network architect and web developer. This is an Honours qualification in IT & Computer Science.
