About the course
This degree builds theoretical and practical foundations for community welfare and human services work. You’ll develop skills in case management, community development, counselling, social research, advocacy and organisational practice, with a strong focus on social justice, human rights and collaboration. Studies cover mental health, trauma-informed practice, Indigenous worldviews, child protection, youth work, disability and research, supported by extensive placements. This is a Bachelor qualification in community welfare.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue roles across community welfare and human services, supporting individuals and communities through assessment, referral and advocacy. Career pathways may include community or welfare worker positions in government and non-government organisations, working in areas such as mental health, trauma support, child protection and out-of-home care, youth services, disability services and community development programs.
