About the course
This honours year extends UOW’s communication and media studies with an additional qualification focused on independent research. You will undertake an honours project on a negotiated topic, supported by an academic supervisor, to build advanced skills in planning, investigation and academic writing. The program can strengthen career prospects and provide preparation for further research study in media and communication at honours level. The programme develops media literacy, content creation, and professional communication skills for digital and corporate environments.
Career outcome
Graduates can leverage honours-level research and communication skills for roles across media, content and corporate communication. Potential pathways include advertising and public relations, reporting and editorial work, digital publishing, social media and content creation, media strategy and advisory roles, and related creative or design-focused positions.
