About the course
QUT’s Bachelor of Built Environment (Honours) (Interior Design) prepares you to design functional, meaningful interior environments for living, work and public settings. You’ll develop a strong design process through studio-based learning, real-world projects and industry connections, while building a professional portfolio. Practical experience is embedded through work placement and engagement with practitioners. This is an undergraduate honours degree in interior design. The programme combines engineering fundamentals, design projects, and industry-ready technical problem-solving skills.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue interior design and interior architecture roles across residential, commercial and public-sector projects. Career pathways include graduate interior designer, interior architect, spatial/experience designer, workplace and retail designer, and design consultant within architecture and multidisciplinary studios. Skills are also relevant to sustainable and wellbeing-focused environments and client-led design practice. This is an undergraduate honours qualification for careers in interior design.
