About the course
Botany at UWA focuses on understanding plant evolution and diversity, and how environmental and biological factors influence plant structure, function and ecology. You’ll explore Western Australia’s unique flora and learn how plants respond to change, supporting conservation and sustainability challenges. This is an undergraduate major within UWA’s science study options in botanical and plant sciences. The programme develops laboratory techniques, scientific writing, and analytical methods for research and industry settings.

Botany studies can lead to roles working with native flora, biodiversity and plant systems across research, conservation and land management.
