About the course
Study human biology, disease and genetics from molecular through to systems levels, with strong laboratory-based learning and real-world biomedical applications. You can tailor the degree through a choice of specialisations and electives, and build industry exposure via 80–160 hours of work placement. The course also develops transferable skills to support career readiness in health and life-science sectors as a Bachelor degree in biomedical science. The programme develops laboratory techniques, scientific writing, and analytical methods for research and industry settings.

Graduates can pursue roles across biomedical and health-related sectors, supported by practical lab experience and industry placement. Career pathways include biomedical and research laboratories, clinical and diagnostic support environments, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, medical sales and product support, and genomics or molecular science settings. The degree can also provide a foundation for further study toward specialised health, research or laboratory careers at Bachelor level in biomedical science.
