About the course
UQ’s Bachelor of Nursing / Midwifery dual degree builds professional capability across nursing and midwifery, using a narrative and patient/woman-focused approach. You’ll learn through integrated theory and practice with workshops, online learning and clinical simulation. The program includes over 1,000 hours of supervised clinical placement across varied healthcare settings, with continuity-of-care midwifery experiences throughout this bachelor-level nursing and midwifery degree.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared for practice across nursing and midwifery settings, supporting people of all ages as well as women, babies and families through pregnancy, birth and postpartum care. Training across diverse clinical environments and extended placements supports transition into professional practice. Career pathways include hospital and community health services, maternity and women’s health, and broader healthcare organisations, as a bachelor-level dual-qualified nurse and midwife.
