About the course
This 4-year dual program combines Biomedical Science with Science, building a strong understanding of the human body from molecular to whole-body levels alongside broad scientific training. You’ll develop practical lab and research skills and learn the scientific process through experimental design, hands-on investigations and computer programming. The Science component lets you choose a specialty major from a wide range of disciplines while studying at UQ’s St Lucia campus.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue roles across biomedical research and broader science-based industries, supported by strong analytical, quantitative and communication skills. Career pathways may include laboratory and research assistant roles, biomedical and clinical research support, and positions in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and health-related organisations. The dual qualification also prepares you for further postgraduate study in biomedical sciences or a chosen science discipline at Bachelor level in biomedical science and science.
