About the course
Asian Studies at UWA explores the dynamic Asian region through its cultures, history and politics, alongside contemporary issues such as popular culture, religion, gender and environmental challenges. You’ll build regional understanding and critical analysis skills relevant to Australia’s engagement with Asia, with study grounded in humanities and social sciences. This is an undergraduate Asian Studies course. The programme combines disciplinary knowledge, applied learning, and graduate competencies for professional career entry.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue roles that draw on Asia-related cultural and political knowledge across government, international relations, education and the non-profit sector, as well as industries engaged with the region. Opportunities may also arise in tourism, media, and community or human-rights organisations, supporting work that involves cross-cultural communication and regional expertise. This is a Bachelor-level pathway in Arts & Humanities. Preparing graduates for graduate employment, professional traineeships, and further postgraduate study.
