About the course
This Bachelor of Arts (Music Theatre) at ECU (WAAPA) develops versatile music theatre performers through technical training in singing, music skills, dance styles, improvisation and acting, including acting for the camera. You’ll also build specialist capabilities such as creating and producing self-devised work, arts management and accompaniment skills. It is an AQF Level 7 bachelor qualification in performing arts. The programme develops design, animation, visual storytelling, and digital media production for creative industries.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue performance-focused careers across musical theatre and related screen and stage contexts. Typical pathways include ensemble or lead performer roles, auditions for professional productions, and work in cabaret and contemporary performance. The course’s creative and production elements also support careers in devising original work, arts administration and production support roles. This is a bachelor-level preparation for professional performing arts practice. Preparing graduates for graphic design, multimedia production, advertising, and creative studio roles.
