About the course
This honours Bachelor of Arts in Western Civilisation lets you broaden your global perspective through close study of influential texts, ideas and cultural traditions, with a Sociology major providing tools to analyse societies, institutions and social change. You’ll build critical reading, writing and research skills and develop the capacity to engage thoughtfully with contemporary debates. This is an on-campus bachelor honours degree in Arts & Humanities at UOW. The programme explores human behaviour, research methods, and applied psychology for community and organisational settings.
Career outcome
Graduates may pursue careers that value strong analysis and communication, including roles across government and policy, community and social services, education, media and publishing, journalism, diplomacy, marketing and advertising, human resources, business administration, heritage and history-related work, and cultural institutions such as libraries and archives. This is a bachelor honours qualification in Arts & Humanities with a Sociology focus. Preparing graduates for human resources support, community services, and psychology-related graduate pathways.
