About the course
This honours year in the humanities builds advanced critical thinking and independent research capability. You complete a substantial thesis-based research project alongside training in research methodology, theoretical inquiry and research skills. The Humanities stream supports study across areas such as media and screen studies, literature, creative writing, philosophy, history and Indigenous studies, with creative writing options allowing a practice-led thesis and exegesis. This is a Bachelor Degree / Honours Degree in Arts & Humanities.
Career outcome
Graduates are valued for roles requiring high-level research, analysis and communication, and are well prepared for higher degree research study such as a PhD. Potential pathways span academic and professional settings including tutoring or lecturing support, editing and publishing, writing and copywriting, journalism and media, policy and social research, archives and curation, public relations and communications, marketing, and project work in cultural and community-focused organisations.
