About the course
This honours year builds advanced research capability and supports professional creative practice or progression to higher degree research. You undertake independent, thesis-based study with training in research methods, theoretical inquiry and project management. In the Creative Arts stream you can focus on a Visual or Performing Arts discipline, completing a practice-led major project comprising creative work and a supporting exegesis at honours level in the creative arts.
Career outcome
Graduates are equipped for roles that value advanced research, creative development and independent project work, and are well prepared for higher degree research such as a PhD. Career directions may include arts and cultural planning, cultural development, curatorial and gallery work, creative direction, visual merchandising and professional studio practice. Pathways can also extend to specialist creative roles such as illustrator, photographer, designer/maker, painter or sculptor within the arts sector at honours level.
