About the course
UWA’s Artificial Intelligence extended major is an undergraduate pathway designed to build strong foundations in computing and advanced AI. You’ll learn how to understand, evaluate, design and implement AI systems, with study integrated through an advanced computer science framework. The course is delivered on campus in Perth and supports broad preparation for emerging technology roles in the AI domain. The programme builds programming, systems thinking, and data skills for technology-driven industries and startups.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue careers where AI and machine learning are applied to real-world problems across many sectors. Typical opportunities include AI/ML engineer, data scientist, software developer, analytics or automation specialist, and roles supporting intelligent systems in business, government, health and industry. This undergraduate AI-focused study provides a base for entry-level roles and further specialisation in computing and artificial intelligence. Preparing graduates for software development, IT support, data analysis, and technology consultancy entry roles.
