About the course
This degree introduces geology as the study of Earth, its resources and the natural processes that shape environments and societies. You’ll build a strong foundation in theoretical and applied geology, with emphasis on mineral, energy and groundwater resources, environmental management, hazards and sustainability in a decarbonising economy. Graduates gain preparation for professional practice through an undergraduate qualification focused on applied geology. The programme develops laboratory techniques, scientific writing, and analytical methods for research and industry settings.

Graduates can pursue roles such as geologist, hydrogeologist, engineering geologist, environmental geoscientist or geochemist.
