About the course
This undergraduate extension specialisation is designed for chemical engineering students interested in the chemistry of natural and synthetic materials and related processing. You’ll broaden your expertise in materials selection while gaining interdisciplinary exposure to areas such as medicines, natural products and manufacturing processes. The specialisation also develops knowledge of advanced particle processing techniques and tools for process integration and optimisation within chemical engineering.
Career outcome
This specialisation can support chemical engineering pathways that involve materials selection and performance, advanced processing and particle technologies, and improving industrial process integration and optimisation. Graduates may apply these skills in materials and manufacturing organisations, process industries, and sectors working with natural products or medicines-related production. It strengthens employability for technical roles that bridge materials chemistry and chemical process engineering at undergraduate level.
