About the course

This double major explores how law affects accounting practice and decision-making in business and government. You’ll study how laws are created and applied, and examine legal issues that arise in auditing, taxation and financial reporting. The major builds knowledge across areas such as torts, property, trusts and trade practices to support professional accounting work. This is an undergraduate commerce major in accounting and business law. The programme introduces accounting standards, taxation basics, and financial reporting for professional accreditation pathways.

Graduates can pursue roles that combine accounting expertise with legal and compliance knowledge. Career paths may include accountant, auditor, tax agent or consultant, business analyst, compliance officer, contract manager, law clerk or legal administrator, and settlement agent.
