About the course
This course prepares you to enter the legal sector quickly as a paralegal, building foundational knowledge of the Australian legal system alongside practical skills in legal research and writing. You can undertake voluntary legal experience or a para-professional placement, and may choose an optional Conveyancing major that meets the academic prerequisite for conveyancer qualification in NSW. This Associate Degree in Law supports progression into further law study. The programme introduces legal documentation, office procedures, and foundational legal knowledge for support roles.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared for paralegal and para-professional roles supporting solicitors and barristers across private practice and public sector settings. Career pathways include work in government legal departments, law enforcement and legal aid, court and prosecution administration, and corporate environments such as finance, banking, insurance and conveyancing. This Associate Degree in Law can also provide a pathway toward further study to become a lawyer. Preparing graduates for legal clerk, paralegal support, and compliance assistant roles, or degree articulation.
