About the course

This Associate Degree of Engineering builds core engineering fundamentals and applies them through civil and structural, electrical and electronics, or mechanical engineering contexts. You’ll develop problem-solving, teamwork, creativity and innovation skills, supported by industry-informed content. The course also provides a pathway to more advanced study, including CDU’s Bachelor of Engineering Science and Bachelor of Engineering Honours in engineering. The programme focuses on applied engineering drawings, workshop skills, and technical maintenance competencies.

Career outcome

Graduates can pursue paraprofessional engineering associate roles across multiple sectors. Civil and structural pathways support work in design, construction, water supply and treatment, infrastructure development, roads and traffic, and project management. Electrical and electronics options align to electronics, renewables, power generation and distribution, process control, mining, oil and gas, consulting and projects. Mechanical options suit design, manufacturing/fabrication, resources and consulting roles in engineering.
