About the course
This associate degree builds core graphic design skills through practical studio-based learning. You’ll develop creative and technical capabilities across communication design, including concept development, typography and visual layout, and learn to respond to real-world design briefs. The course provides a pathway into further study or employment and is delivered on campus at RMIT. This is an Associate Degree in design and visual art. The programme trains digital design tools, visual production, and portfolio development for creative workplaces.

Graduates can pursue entry-level roles across print and digital design, supporting creative teams in studios, agencies and in-house marketing departments. You may work on branding, publications, promotional materials and basic digital content, or freelance and build a small practice. Typical roles include graphic designer, illustrator and web designer, with scope to progress through experience or further study. This is an Associate Degree in design and visual art.
