I joined AUG in 2001 as an EC/RO, became the Business Development Manager for Indonesia in 2004, and later oversaw operations as Country Manager. By 2008, our team grew with Febri, Riana, and Doni, marking AUG’s expansion.

In 2012, I joined the team as an EXPO event crew member before graduating from UQ, and then I started my internship. Assisting international students on their educational journey has been meaningful to me and has kept me in this job.
This was my first full-time job, which provided me with a platform to excel in marketing and event planning. A few years later, I became a Qualified Education Agent Counsellor and was then promoted to Marketing Executive before assuming my current position.
Over the next five years, the post-services package will become increasingly important as more and more students apply either independently or through lesser-known subagents.
I am the Business Development Manager overseeing Sabah market as well as supporting AUG Indo market.
I began as a casual staff at AUG Penang during my degree, became a full-time education counsellor in 2010, advanced to Senior Counsellor, then Deputy Manager in Singapore, and moved to Sabah in 2020.
I guess we need to embrace the changes by practicing a smart working environment - stop measuring inputs (hours worked) but start to measure outputs (outcomes achieved). On top of that, company may set more rewarding outcomes for those performing staff to create a more competitive culture.

At 30, going through a rough patch in life, I received an offer from AUG Singapore. Despite having a role at a major bank in the Philippines, I chose to take a leap of faith, leaving my two young children behind to pursue a career in a new industry. With no knowledge of the Singapore market, I worked hard and rose to become Deputy Manager for Operations. A conversation with Mr. Wong over coffee sparked the vision of establishing AUG Philippines, allowing me to reunite with my family. Today, the branch is in its 8th year, transforming how students and parents view overseas education.
We must keep track of all the current trends and be able to reinvent ourselves to meet the demands of the industry. The company must continue to choose the right people with the same vision and empower them to make an impact. In this industry, the possibilities are endless.

Biggest congratulations to AUG for celebrating 30th anniversary this year! 30 years also known as pearl anniversary. For a pearl to form, layers upon layers adding up over time. That’s pretty much of how AUG has grown over these years – become stronger and more radiant. It’s certainly an amazing achievement for AUG since the first office set up in Malaysia to uncountable offices now globally. Credits goes to all the AUGians who has been working very hard, very dedicated and passionate to make it happen and transform it to a sustainable business model.
