Unlike most countries, the Republic of Ireland has more flexibility and less restrictions on student Visa approvals. Most students do not require a Visa to study in Ireland but there are a few nationalities which are required to apply for a Visa prior to arriving in Ireland, which includes China, Laos, Vietnam, Indonesia, India and others.
The application also depends on the student’s duration of study as the requirements are different for below or above 3 months of study.
Within 90 days of their arrival in Ireland, all international students whom are not citizens of EU/EEA or Switzerland will have to register with the Garda National Immigration Bureau (GNIB).
