- Does the rent include utilities?
- Is the place furnished or unfurnished?
- If sharing a place, who are your housemates? Are they students? Male or female? How old are they?
- Is there a contract outlining the terms and conditions of your rental agreement? Have you read and understood it?
- What’s the duration of the lease? Are there any penalties for ending the lease early?
- How far is it from your campus? Is it accessible via public transport?
- Is it close to grocery stores, shopping centres and other amenities?
- Is it safe? What are the neighbouring suburbs?
- If you’re under 18 years of age, restrictions on where you can stay apply.
- Have you checked with your education provider?
- Have you inspected the place in person? Be aware of rental scams and never send money from overseas without first checking out the place
