The course will combine lessons, lectures, workshops and visits to enable students to thoroughly prepare their US College applications and aim for the IVY League. Lessons will develop each of the four language skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing in the context of the TOEFL exam. Opportunities to develop knowledge of vocabulary and grammar will also be incorporated. There will be a focus on the SAT exam and students will have the opportunity to analyse typical questions and practise active listening and essay writing skills. Lectures will cover areas to support students in choosing the correct university path including financial planning and scholarships. Workshops are designed to help participants develop their confidence and personal skills and take a targeted approached to completing applications. The programme will also include visits to Harvard University and the Historic Freedom Trail.
