This diploma supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to advance in early childhood education and care. It builds the specialised skills and knowledge needed to progress from current workplace experience into higher-responsibility roles, including early childhood educator and service supervisor positions. Training is delivered in North Queensland with an up-to-18-month timeframe and flexible intake timing for working learners. The programme develops classroom assistance skills, child development knowledge, and educational support practice.

Graduates can pursue roles in early childhood education and care services where they support children’s learning, wellbeing and development and help deliver quality programs. Typical pathways include working as an early childhood educator and progressing to service supervisor responsibilities within long day care, kindergarten or other early learning settings. This Diploma-level qualification supports career advancement in the Education & Teaching sector. Preparing graduates for teacher aide, early childhood support, and education assistant roles, or degree articulation.
