The Master of Diplomacy develops professional capabilities for work in international affairs and diplomatic practice. Taught by specialist scholars in the Coral Bell School of Asia Pacific Affairs, the program blends theory and real-world skills, with opportunities to engage with senior diplomats and policy practitioners. Students complete core courses in diplomacy and negotiation, then tailor study through electives across regional, international and language studies. This is a one-year full-time master’s in international relations/diplomacy.

Entry requirements

Applicants must meet ANU admission and English language requirements and are selected competitively. Entry normally requires a cognate bachelor degree (or international equivalent) with a minimum GPA of 5/7. Alternative pathways include a cognate bachelor with GPA 4/7 plus a graduate certificate (GPA 4/7), or GPA 4/7 plus 3 years relevant ANZSCO Skill Level 1 work experience, or a cognate graduate diploma (GPA 4/7), or extensive relevant work experience (up to 10 years).
