The Master of Applied Cybernetics is a one-year full-time graduate program focused on understanding and managing complex cybernetic and cyber-physical systems. It links technology with human, regulatory, social and environmental contexts, and includes opportunities for applied research and professionally relevant experience. The program is delivered in person through ANU’s College of Systems and Society and develops advanced interdisciplinary capability in applied cybernetics at master’s level.

Entry requirements

Admission is via a competitive two-stage selection process. Applicants submit a cover letter addressing selection criteria (leadership outputs, cross-disciplinary communication, flexibility, resilience, collaboration), a portfolio piece, and a CV plus employer statement or referees. Shortlisted candidates attend an interview. Assumed background includes a Bachelor degree (often honours) with GPA 5/7, or equivalent with relevant work experience; alternatively GMAT/GRE with substantial experience, or extensive senior experience.
