This qualification prepares community service workers to deliver and support person-centred services for individuals and groups across varied community settings. You’ll develop skills in providing support, advocacy and appropriate interventions, with growing autonomy and some responsibility within established guidelines, including the ability to supervise others in certain contexts. This is a Certificate IV qualification in community services practice. The programme introduces counselling basics, community support skills, and behavioural science fundamentals.

Graduates can pursue roles supporting people and communities through frontline community services. Typical pathways include community services support worker, youth support worker, family support worker, and advocacy-focused roles such as migrant/refugee advocate or disability support worker advocate. Work is commonly found in community organisations and service providers delivering case support and assistance. This is a Certificate IV pathway in sociology and social work-related services.
