International Relations is a multidisciplinary major examining how states and other actors interact across political, social, economic and environmental domains. In this double degree major you explore global issues through political and international relations theory, foreign policy, strategic studies and political history, with attention to diplomacy, security and geopolitical change. The major includes an Asia–Pacific focus and may include an international study tour as part of your bachelor double degree.

This major can prepare you for roles that analyse and respond to international political and security challenges across government, diplomacy and global organisations. Career paths may include diplomat or embassy/consulate official, intelligence or signals analyst, strategic or trade policy analyst, research officer, public servant, defence or law enforcement roles, and advocacy positions such as human rights or multicultural affairs liaison. Industries include state and federal government, international NGOs, trade, development and think tanks for a bachelor double degree.
