The Graduate Diploma in Hearing Health Care is a one-year, community-focused program designed as a pathway to a career in audiology for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. It provides practical training in hearing healthcare, with flexible study that supports remote learning and local placements. Graduates may enter hearing care or advocacy roles, or transition into the second year of the Master of Clinical Audiology.

The course aims to build skills in hearing and balance assessment and introduce related research methods to support evidence-informed practice. It also supports culturally responsive approaches to improving hearing health outcomes in Indigenous communities.

职业成果

Graduates can pursue roles in community hearing care and hearing-health advocacy, supporting improved ear and hearing health outcomes. The training prepares students for work alongside health services and community organisations in hearing screening, support and referral pathways. Graduates can also progress into the Master of Clinical Audiology (second year entry) as a pathway toward becoming a clinical audiologist.

Entry requirements

Designed exclusively for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. English language requirement: IELTS 7.5 with no band less than 7.0. Access Melbourne is available.
