Through elective choices drawn from related master’s-level offerings, you can build capability in policy analysis, governance and decision-making, and apply economic and policy tools to public problems. The qualification can also support progression to a relevant master’s degree with appropriate course selection.

Graduates may pursue or advance careers in public policy and governance across the public sector and organisations that work with government. Typical pathways include policy officer/adviser roles, program and project work, policy analysis and evaluation, and roles in regulatory, economic, environmental, development or national security policy. The skills are also relevant to consulting, industry bodies, NGOs and community organisations engaged in policy development.
Entry requirements
Applicants must have either a Bachelor, Graduate Diploma, or Graduate Certificate (or international equivalent) with a minimum GPA of 4.0/7. Alternatively, they may qualify with 24 postgraduate units at GPA 4.0/7, or via professional pathways: either GRE (min 155 Verbal, 155 Quant, 4.0 Writing) plus 3 years relevant ANZSCO Skill Level 1 experience, or 5 years relevant ANZSCO Skill Level 1 experience. English requirements also apply.
