This graduate certificate builds knowledge and skills for professionals working with people who have experienced trauma. Developed with industry partners, it covers trauma-informed theory and trauma responsive practice across areas such as family violence, work with children and young people, and supervision and leadership. Learning is grounded in real-world case studies and current research and is offered online with placement/intensive components. The programme develops advanced psychological assessment, intervention planning, and evidence-based practice for professional settings.

Designed for graduates such as teachers, nurses, social workers, allied health and youth/community workers, this course strengthens confidence and capability to support people affected by trauma. Graduates may work in roles such as community services project officer, case manager, school counsellor, mental health nurse, social research officer or youth pathways officer, across employers including government departments, hospitals, community centres, correctional services, schools and welfare agencies.

Applicants must normally hold an approved bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
