This degree explores how food production, processing and nutrition affect health, safety and sustainability. You’ll develop practical laboratory and industry-relevant skills in food analysis, product development, microbiology, regulation and consumer behaviour, preparing you to evaluate and improve fresh and processed foods. The Bachelor of Food Science and Human Nutrition provides a broad science foundation for work across the food and nutrition sector. The programme develops clinical skills, patient care fundamentals, and health sciences knowledge for registered practice pathways.

Graduates can pursue roles across Australia’s large food and beverage industry, including food scientist/technologist, quality assurance, food safety and compliance, product development, food biotechnology and research support. The program also supports pathways to further study such as Honours or higher degree research, and can contribute toward a pathway into dietetics with additional study. This bachelor qualification prepares careers in Food Sciences and human nutrition. Preparing graduates for nursing, allied health, and community care professional registration and graduate roles.
