The Clinical Leadership Specialisation is a postgraduate specialisation made up of four units that develops advanced leadership capability for healthcare settings. You’ll study leadership theories applied to clinical practice and research, alongside relevant codes, standards, policy and legislation. The specialisation focuses on critical thinking, evidence-informed decision-making, and collaborative approaches that can support improvements in clinical practice within health services. The programme develops health sciences knowledge and practice skills aligned with its qualification level.

This specialisation supports health professionals aiming to take on clinical leadership responsibilities within healthcare organisations. Graduates may pursue or strengthen roles such as clinical leader, team leader, clinical coordinator, practice development lead or quality and safety champion. Skills developed are relevant across hospitals, community health services and other clinical environments where leading teams, guiding practice standards and driving service improvement are required in postgraduate health practice.
