UCAS Clearing is a process run by UCAS that helps students find available university places after the main application cycle ends.
It’s a second chance to secure a university spot if your plans didn’t go as expected.
What Is UCAS Clearing?

It ensures students can still progress into higher education even if they:
- Didn’t receive any offers
- Didn’t meet offer conditions
- Applied after the main deadline (after 30 June)
- Changed their course or university preference
When Does Clearing Open?
Opens 6 July. Most Clearing opportunities become available immediately after results day, making this the most important period for students to act quickly.
