University Application Dates Singapore: When Should You Apply Overseas?

Planning to study overseas after graduating in Singapore?

For 2027 entry, some applications open months before students receive their final results. United Kingdom (UK) universities mainly use UCAS, while Australian universities have their own application periods and intake dates. In Singapore, NUS and NTU also set different deadlines depending on the qualification you are applying with.

Here are the key university application dates in Singapore and overseas for 2027 entry.

UK University Application Dates For 2027 Entry

Most UK undergraduate applications are submitted through UCAS. Applications for 2027 entry opened on 12 May 2026, while completed applications could be submitted from 1 September 2026.

University Of Sydney Application Dates

The University of Sydney has separate closing dates for its February and August intakes.

For international undergraduate applicants, the standard closing date for Semester 1 is 1 December of the year before commencement. For Semester 2, the standard closing date is 29 May of the commencing year.

Sydney advises applicants to check their individual course page because some courses have different deadlines and applications can close once capacity is reached.

This means a student targeting a February 2027 start should have the application ready by December 2026, while students targeting the August intake have until 29 May 2027 under the standard international deadline.

University Of Queensland Application Dates

The University of Queensland uses QTAC for its undergraduate applications.

For Semester 1 2027, applications opened on 4 August 2026. The major offer-round application deadline is 7 December 2026, followed by the major QTAC offer round on 14 January 2027. Classes at UQ begin on 22 February 2027.

These dates apply to most UQ undergraduate programs. Some programs have earlier closing dates, so the specific course deadline still matters.

Monash University Application Dates

Monash University has a different application structure for International Students.

For many international undergraduate applicants who are not applying through an Australian Year 12 pathway, applications can be made throughout the year. Monash lists teaching starts in early March for Semester 1 and mid-July for Semester 2.

This makes Monash different from universities with one fixed annual application deadline. The relevant date can depend on the course and the intake you are targeting.

Curtin University Application Dates

Curtin University publishes specific application periods for individual undergraduate courses.

For 2027, several Curtin undergraduate course pages list 28 January 2027 as the closing date for Semester 1 and 1 July 2027 for Semester 2. Applications for Semester 2 open on 1 March 2027.

Curtin notes that deadlines can vary by course. For example, the published dates appear across courses including Arts, Commerce, Engineering and Science, while some programs have separate application requirements.

NUS & NTU University Application Dates For 2027 Entry

For students applying to NUS or NTU for the 2027/28 academic year, application periods vary depending on the qualification you are applying with.

In general, students with a Singapore Polytechnic Diploma can expect applications to open around December or January and close in February, while A-Level applications generally take place from February to March.

For IB Diploma students, applications generally open earlier, around October or December, and remain open until February or March, depending on the university and qualification requirements.

The exact application window can change depending on your qualification and the university. NUS and NTU also use different application periods for different qualification groups, so students should check the relevant admissions page when applications open.

What Happens If You Miss A University Deadline?

For UK applications, missing the 13 January 2027 deadline does not automatically prevent an application, but universities are not required to give late applications equal consideration.

Applications received after 30 June 2027 are automatically entered into Clearing, which opens on 2 July 2027. For Australian universities and Singapore universities, late applications depend much more heavily on the individual university, course and qualification.
