The Master of Speech Pathology is a two-year full-time program that prepares students to assess, diagnose and treat communication and swallowing disorders across the lifespan. It combines scientific foundations with hands-on clinical learning, including access to clinical labs, virtual learning spaces and professional placement opportunities. The course is fully accredited by Speech Pathology Australia and is designed to qualify graduates to practise as speech pathologists.

Students develop specialised expertise in evaluating and managing communication and swallowing difficulties associated with illness, injury or disability. The course aims to build strong clinical reasoning, evidence-based practice and research-informed decision-making skills through a blend of theory and supervised clinical experience. Graduates are prepared to deliver patient-centred care and work collaboratively within multidisciplinary health and community settings.

Graduates can pursue roles as speech pathologists working with children and adults who have speech, language, voice, fluency or swallowing difficulties. Employment opportunities span hospitals, community health services, rehabilitation, disability services, private practice and education-related settings. The qualification supports entry to an accredited allied health profession with practice opportunities in Australia and internationally (subject to local requirements).
