This Certificate III in Aquaculture builds practical skills for fish farming and aquaculture production, including planning and maintaining systems to house aquatic species. You’ll learn to monitor water quality and stock health, manage disease and waste, and carry out harvesting and post-harvest operations. Training is hands-on and uses campus salt and freshwater facilities, with experience operating water treatment components and following safety procedures in an aquaculture setting.

Graduates can pursue entry-level roles in aquaculture operations where they support day-to-day stock care and facility activities. Typical work includes monitoring water quality, assisting with feeding and stock handling, supporting hatchery and harvesting tasks, and following WHS and emergency procedures. Roles may be found with fish farms and aquaculture facilities, including positions such as aquaculture farm attendant or pond worker in production environments. Preparing graduates for laboratory assistant, quality control, and science technician roles, or degree articulation.
